I love my LCD steam deck but I’ve been sold by all the praise about the OLED.
I live in a major Canadian city and am having a lot of trouble selling my LCD deck for a reasonable price. I’ve listed it for $400 CAD (about 300 USD) and there is no serious interest. Only lowballers.
Anyone else in the same boat?
I’m happy to keep my deck and stick by what I think it’s worth for moe, but I thought it would be a fun discussion topic.
Which LCD model?
Nothing is hard to sell
your price is just not low enough
Need to go lower. 9/10 people scrolling don’t even know what a steamdeck is and the 1/10 that do want an OLED.
You probably don’t have your price low enough. That could be the reason
Yep. High supply and low demand. Good luck. I got lucky and just sold mine. Got kinda lowballed, but it was either take their offer or let it collect dust in a corner…
As someone who’s looking to buy a second hand deck, I wouldn’t pay 400$ for a 64 gb or 256 gb on market place when I can get a refurbished one for the same price with a 1 year warranty
You got to be patient. If you want it gone sooner, sell it cheaper.
Sold my LCD 512gb for $350. Used almost every day since launch, Q2 Steam Deck.
Just be patient, someone will bite. I had about 12 people try to low-ball me, all below $300, with a couple at 300- but possibly just fake offers as they wouldn’t talk much. But I still held out. All in all, within just about a week, I had a buyer for $350 and my interaction couldn’t have been smoother. Older guy who just wanted to buy his other kid a Steam Deck, because one already had one. Not sure if he was aware of the OLED though. Honestly though, a lot of people really won’t care about the OLED and will happily get an LCD for a bit cheaper. I would say that time does matter though and I would try to sell it sooner than later. In the end, I was blessed, possibly lucky, to have the guy who purchased mine and with just how polite he was. Didn’t even try to haggle me after agreeing on $350. He agreed with me that he hates when people try to lower prices after agreed amount.
Stick with it. You’ll find someone. Just don’t short yourself.
