I am currently serving in the IDF (reservist enlisted for the war) and obviously I brought my SD with me.
I want to use it as a party game machine (connecting a bunch of old controllers and playing some party games with the guys) I was able to find a cheap projector that I can connect to my dock through hdmi.

My issue is that I don’t have speakers on the projector. And the deck refuses to output sound through the internal speakers as long as the deck is connected to the projector.

I also tried connecting a BT speaker (JBL flip) but this gives me weird audio issues both latency and audio artifacts.

Not sure if that’s because of the speaker itself or the fact that I have 4 controllers and a speaker connected at the same time over BT.

I want to either get the deck to output sound from the internal speakers, or, make the bt audio work.

I’d try to find a way to tap into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the deck. Does your bluetooth speaker happen to have an auxiliary port?

The reason you don’t hear audio with HDMI is because HDMI can carry audio, so the Steam Deck automatically selects it. You should be able to go into Setting -> Audio and then change the output device back to Speakers.
