I’m gonna finish up Spiritfarer today. My advice is don’t play like me. It’s not really meant to be a game you just grind out. It’s actually a beautiful 6 it works far far better if you play it in digestible chunks.
I think when I looked this morning, I’m at 33-ish hours and 88% of the game and it will probably take me 2 more to finish, so I’d say I’ll just do what’s comfortable and finish up around 35 hours.
The game and its characters are meant to be enjoyed slowly and I didn’t do that. I put most of the time in this week, and that allows the shallow gameplay loop to really show itself. The minigames and exploration are ridiculously simple, and you will feel the grind if you attempt to just push through them like I did.
I was frequently frustrated at the game because I was playing it like a “videogame”. As I’ve gotten closer to the end I’ve really come to appreciate what it’s set out to do, but that requires slowing down and t
Play it like you’re reading a book and hanging out with a friends for a bit of time each night. It’s like if Animal Crossing had a distinct theme and stories.
I hate when people make lists like this that make me go one by one. “Oh, that sounds nice. Oh, it’s on sale, I’ll just add this one” for each and every one.
I had to select this above games from my small wishlist of 50. Each time trying to get the best ones ^^.
I hate myself for increasing the size of my backlog too don’t worry
I was once like you, had bought DE and played it for about an hour. Didn’t touch it for three months. Then I reinstalled it and could not think about anything else but playing it for a week. Then I convinced my gf who had never played a game before to have a go at it. She couldn’t let go of it.
And now I wish I could do it all again. There won’t ever be anything like it ever again. I listen to the OST at least once a week.
I’m getting my OLED deck this week and I’m going to do another playthrough.
Ive played it for a few hours and really enjoy it, but it feels like either my build sucks ass or I’m just missing all sorts of subtle clues as to what to do, because my options seem insanely limited. Like, apparently the police don’t have access to a truck or power tools, so my choices for how to get a body down from a tree are limited to asking the guys who probably did the murder for help and/or sympathizing with a racist so he likes me and takes it down himself? Just kind of weird

Yes ! I tried to focus on games that runes well on the deck. The only thing missing is the beast itself

How long did it take you ? You played it on the deck ?
I will make sure to follow your recommendation, thanks

I played it on Switch, similar enough to the Deck
Why play both HL1 and black mesa?
Hot take maybe, but I really thought Black Mesa sucked.
D:
They are both the same and different games. Different vibes, different end games, different gameplay. If you play both you’ll notice right away.

I own Disco Elysium but barely played it. I’ll have to add this to my list of games to play now!
Wildermyth is fantastic! They’ve added a lot since I last played so that should be fun to revisit.

Disco Elysium is a treat, it just keeps getting better as you go. One of the most memorable games of like the last 2 decades.
