I recently upgraded my Series 6 to the Ultra 2 and the on-device Siri is life changing for someone who utilizes the watch every day.

Currently, the feature is limited to basic tasks like

  • Starting or ending a workout
  • Starting custom Shortcuts
  • Asking your current step count
  • Asking to do a toss coin

I never use Siri on the iPhone, I think for wearables it is different. I can do now some tasks that require too much screen interaction down to few to none.

Now, I can start and end a workout without stopping from an activity. It could be a little improvement, but it is remarkable. For context, I never bring my phone during any of my workouts, so the new feature is fitting for my usage.

Have never used Siri on my phones, but I saw some comments about it on S9/U2 including yours. I enabled it this morning just to try it out and it is crazy fast and surprisingly useful. I am impressed.

Same here, not using Siri on the phone but love it on the watch! I usually ask it to start timers, a stop watch, the battery status, turn Bluetooth on and off. Love it!

old Siri needs to process requests on the phone I believe is the big difference, so basically its just a lot faster now.
