So, I recently retired a Garmin Vivoactive HR that has seen 6 years of active duty on my wrist. I work in the grocery department of a supermarket and impacts with doors, shelves and other structures are a regular hazard of the job.
The Garmin has seen its fair share of those, and despite a non-functional touchscreen, shattered strap connections, broken accelerometer and more, it still manages to tell proper time and track my heart rate.
Looking at my shiny new Series 7, I don’t know if I could expect to say the same of it after even half that time period. I want to wear it to work, but I think a case is in order. What would be the best case for use in an environment where the Watch is going to experience regular impacts to both the face and edges?
I’m an RN and help kids on their food truck so plenty of possible hazards. Have low budget clear, soft, silicone bumper on 2020 AW6 gold SS. No screen protector. Been 3 years. Looks pristine.
Fyi … Take bumper off periodically and clean watch. And … replaced bumper x1. Not necessary but only because it yellows.
Thanks for the recommendation! Being silicone, I assume it doesn’t leave any trace on your Watch? My Series 7 is product Red so I’m concerned about cases scratching it if I take them off for a social event or something.
