Just got my first “own” laptop, an MSI B12M Modern 15, had always used desktops before now. So far everything seems to be good about it, except the general behavior of the fan. It is not excessively loud or anything, but it has a tendency to start for like a single second, stop, and literally 3 seconds later start again for 1-2 seconds. Is this normal or that’s a kind of red flag about the general quality? It’s running a 12th gen I5 and there is no sign that it is overheating too easily. Thank you.

Unless it’s making an unusual sound when it stops it should be normal. I say that because the fan would usually stop if there is something blocking it.
