I’m not up to date how how this issue turned out so I’d like to know what the status of that is. I’d like to get a 4090 for a rendering machine that would be pushed hard 24/7. Would this be fine to do with a 4090, or are there ones that are known to be faulty and others that have no issue at all?
As far as I’m aware that was only a problem if people didn’t plug it in properly. Many people have been gaming on 4090’s day and night for a while now so I doubt that’s still a problem.
Just make sure it’s plugged in properly both on the GPU and PSU end and don’t cheap out on a powersupply (ideally go with the new models which use extra safety measures, even though the old ones should also be ok still,) and you should be good.
The power connectors are still melting and they are still blaming the user for not inserting it properly.
I’d avoid Gigabyte for the PCB breaking issues.
I’d say it’s fine but check the power cable once a week, pressing it in each time.
