Will I be able to use the SD at 4k120hz with this dongle?

I understand 4k120hz doesn’t have a ton of use w the steamdeck, but my monitor supports 4k120hz nd i will play a ton of retro games

im confused about the 120hz capability on 4k tho, a lot of people say you can’t do it through HDMI at all, some say specific docks/dangles wont do it cuz they dont have HDMI 2.1, so can anyone clear this up for me?

No, because that’s technically a Thunderbolt 4 dock. Like a lot of listings on Amazon, it’s worded extremely badly and ends up being kind of deceptive, either by intent or accident. There’s a table in the details that shows the various resolutions and refresh rates based on connection type, and it specifically mentions you need Thunderbolt or DP 1.4 paired with the HDMI1 port of the dock (HDMI2 port apparently doesn’t support it at all).

The Steam Deck doesn’t have Thunderbolt or USB4, so the available bandwidth is not sufficient.

Probably. I have only ever been able to get Windows to display 4k120hz, but it’s been a while since I’ve used a dock, so idk if Steam ever enabled it.
