Just curious as to if anyone has more than 1 SD and what do you use the other(s) for?
I have 3. One permanently docked, and two portable — one LCD and one OLED.
LCD - for tinkering / testing stuff and for docked mode gameplay
OLED - still sitting in the box hadnt had the time to setup yet. For handheld mode and tinkering too
This right here 👆
Yes, when I was new and knew nothing about Linux, I had one for experiments and one that was pure.
Yes! Assuming the soon-to-be-delivered OLED doesn’t have any dead pixels 🤞🏻, my LCD is gonna become an involuntary test subject. I really should rename it “Chell”. DeckHD and 32GB RAM are also on the way!
I have two. A 512gb LCD and the 1tb oled.
My wife is getting the LCD on the condition she plays some games with me. I couldn’t help myself and had to have the oled. It’s great.
Had the 512 lcd deck, ordered the oled le deck…now wife has an lcd deck
I’m tempted for the oled version .
Windows LCD SteamOS OLED
The oled made a lot of people owner of 2 decks. I am one of them.
Same
Im going to sell my low/mid range gaming pc to buy an oled and then turn my original lcd deck into a docked windows pc
This is what I did, since my computers are Macs. Cheaper than selling it for ~$200.
Since I’d never been in the Steam ecosystem prior to my first Deck, I had one deck that was “pure”, and a second that was experimental. That way I could learn Linux, install things like cryo tools, chiaki, and other launchers without messing up my pure deck. Also, part of the process of experimentation is having a neutral sample to compare the experiments to. The experimental deck became my Diablo 4 and WoW machine until D4 released natively.
Instead of sitting inside to play my Steam Deck 100% of the time, I’ll sit on the porch outside to play. I have big dogs (130 pounds), so they’ll get it dirty and scratchy when bringing toys back to be thrown. So now I have an OG deck that I am less worried about scratching, another for experiments and booting windows since my computers are all Macs, and the third, my main gaming system, is a SE OLED…
Temporarily own two, but I’m giving my brother my LCD deck for Christmas
Have one lcd from near launch and now the oled from my recent visit to Japan. Currently contemplating whether I sell the lcd or keep it. But I wouldn’t be using both it’s exclusively the OLED one now
Isn’t owning multiple Steam Decks something we’re supposed to do? This is expected.
I have a 512GB version. The cost for that one was split between me and my brother and we both have our accounts on it. That was soon after the release and took 6 months to arrive. 2 months ago I bought a 256GB version that only I paid for so I can bring it to the dorms since I’m a college student now.
I have LCD and OLED, but I’ll give LCD away to my family. I don’t need two decks.
I had two for about a week. Sold my lcd to my nephew though and he is super excited about it.
