has anyone found a full proof way to move their current deck setup to a new deck without skipping a beat? i’ve put way too much setup time into my current deck and don’t wanna start from scratch again

i know someone mentioned before that simply swapping the SSD and SD card into the new one should do it but not sure how easy that is

I never customised my Deck too extensively. I like it’s look and all default settings work for me very well. I did customise settings for all my games, but that takes a minute for each game and I wanted to test them on new screen anyways. BTW, Bioshock Infinite plays and looks stunning on SD OLED.

I just took my 2tb SSD from my LCD and put it in my OLED. Less than 10 minutes and I was good to go. Considering how slow my Internet is, if I’d have wanted to redownload the 1.5tb of games I have, it would take me around 100ish hours, or 4 full days. So swapping the drives was a no brainer.

nice this is exactly what i wanted to hear hahah

was the process pretty simple? i’ve had to take apart my deck once before to mess with the analog sticks but not too familiar with deconstruction overall

Don’t know about swapping what’s on the internal storage but as far as swapping the memory card from OG to OLED it was as simple as putting it in the OLED and calling it a day.

For me, the regular sd card swap did NOT transfer everything in perfect working order. Most noticably non steamcloud save games, luxorpeda, and emudeck. I had installed every single game on the sd card, I had never installed a single thing on the SSD.

I have a few save games from the pre cloud era on my old deck that I will have to manually recover once I find their locations. (I’m looking at you tomb raider 2006 and hexen).

I just made sure both were updated to 3.5 then swapped the ssd and SD card over and it was like I never switched devices. Everything the same no issues
