I used to work for a google authorized repair partner. Pixels are the biggest pieces of trash I have ever had the displeasure of working on. The cheapest, flimsiest, garbage components used, baffling design flaws on every single model, absolute laughable garbage. So bad it’s almost like an inside joke, like Google tried their absolute hardest to make the cheapest, shittiest phones possible with the most hilarious points of failure generation after generation. Whenever people ask for my recommendation when it comes to getting a new phone, my answer is “it all comes down to preference, but never, ever buy a Google Pixel”
Odd. My experience is been nothing but positive so far. Went from a blackberry key2 to a pixel 6, then pixel 7. My only complaint is I hate typing on a touch screen.
My first gen LG OLED TV had this… 4 little dimples in the screen from overtightened screws coming in from the back. The OLED screens really are flexible, the TV is like 7 years old now and has no issues.
Those are just extra devices to steal and sell even more of you to anyone asking. Don’t worry. It’ll be ok for them.
There is no reason whatsoever to buy a google phone or this phone in particular.
Can you actually feel the bumps or is it just superficial? Don’t have a pixel but I’m curious
Can’t feel them, can’t even really see them under normal circumstances. The only time I can see mine is from an angle under point source light. Having said that… Not really encouraged about long-term prospects given that issue… Might try to return it for a replacement, had been hoping for this issue to sort of get ironed out as I had heard others get replacements with the same issue
Did you actually use the iron, or are you just waiting to see what happens?
I wouldn’t recommend actually using it.
I would rather have a thicker phone if it meant the screen was flat. WTF is this don’t worry attitude?
Definition of it isn’t a bug, but a feature.
How are Android fans supposed to joke to iPhone users now? Can’t say, “you’re holding it wrong” anymore.
If this was Apple, they’d be attacking Google a whole lot more and saying things like Screengate.
Is the screen not glass? And if it is how are bumps pushing up through glass???
They’re not, you literally can’t see the bumps when the screen is on and off it’s off, you have to angle the phone in a very specific way with his lighting to just about make them out.
They definitely don’t push through the glass front of the screen and they don’t impact the way that one works in any way
The way everyone has been commenting about it makes it seem like there are physical bumps you can feel
Yeah it’s crazy! It’s definitely not the case!
The top layer is glass and is smooth. The bumps are under the glass.
That’s an embarrassing failure. I wouldn’t even trust anything else they put out to last if a mistake that major can make it through.
Shit, give me a phone as thick as a 3ds and i won’t complain, the bigger the parts are the cheaper they are, and the more battery you can fit into it.
The bumps spell out, “Buy an iPhone” in brail.
Nah. Android people just move back to Samsung.
Wouldn’t all of the Pixel 8 phones then have the same issue? Mine doesn’t.
Not necessarily. Manufacturing specs involve measurement and error tolerance range. It could be one end of the error tolerance that this occurs.
yeah everyone in here complaining while I read it all on my very non bumpy 8 pro
It’s a feature textured screens!!! lol google probably.
Edit autocorrect…
Buy an iPhone people. Android is old and busted.
