    This is the same team on the same day. The 9.044 GHz was the actual successful attempt. They tried to go for glory with 9.1, but the system crashed before it could save a validation file of the result. The validation file is sent to a website to confirm that everything was legit before a world record can be claimed.

    So they saw 9.1 GHz on CPU-Z, but not long enough to generate the validation file. The system was stable long enough on 9.044 GHz to generate the file so that is the actual world record.
