I teach beginner painting classes at various retirement centers for a living. For the job I set up a class room in the facilities the atendees live in and I need to bring with me absolutely everything they could need for the class, including music. Right now I’ve just been using my phone to bluetooth music to a pair of JBL Pulse 5 speakers. It sounds great but hogging my phone is kinda rough.

I got curious if the steamdeck even had bluetooth to maybe do this instead of my phone and I discovered it does. I’d really like to set the steamdeck to do this since a phone call mutes the music and is pretty awkward.

That said, the steam deck isn’t a mini windows PC and I have no clue how to do jack diddly with linux. Are there any guides I can follow online on how to do this? I need to get the music onto the steam deck and then somehow quickly/easily DJ that music. I guess I’d need a music player that is optimized for like streamers or something. If that is even a thing.

it’s an x86 Linux PC, it can basically do anything a PC can. Boot to desktop mode, and checkout the discover app store.

    yes it has Bluetooth.

Just boot the deck into desktop mode. (Go to the shut down menu and choose desktop mode) Then stream/download your music from there. Or load it on to the SD card. You can connect to BT in settings just as in Windows.
