So got my 512 OLED last week, I’ve noticed some of the gripes others have noticed such as the maracas for buttons. But something that is driving me crazy…does anyone else seem to have a lot of creaks? Near the entire top of the shell, from the left edge of the top vent to past the power button is extremely flexible and creaky. Especially right over the top vent. Feels so cheap compared to my old LCD. Is this just another normal OLED thing or am I one of the few unlucky to get a squeaker 🙁

I have the same issue with mine. Its pretty unfortunate but this is my first SD so I dont really mind that much. I figured it will go away if I put a case on it or something.

The plastic is surely different so I guess that’s some of it. I haven’t opened my OLED up yet, but I’m curious to see why it’s so creaky. I searched and haven’t found any reports really of the cheap feeling and creaky-ness of the OLEDs that’s why I posted this. That’s what kills me though my lcd has been apart many times and feels pretty solid, but the OLED creaks in several spots. I grab it off my stand gripping across the back with pressure at the bottom and top of the device and that squishy plastic and creak Everytime just makes it feel so much more like a cheap low quality device

I would have preferred they just used the same shell as before. The weight of the LCD model didn’t bother me. The LE OLED is even lighter than the standard 512 or 1TB model and it feels so cheap to me. I love the look of it but I feel like I bought a Steam Deck and modded it with some cheap 3rd party shell.

if you press in power button with your fingernail instead of thumb over the whole area of the power button, it won’t creak

mine is sold other than that
