Hi Guys! I just bought a galaxy a54 from a seller off eBay. The listing said it was new, but when I got it the seal to the box was broken. Not terrible in itself, BUT when I turned it on it didn’t greet me with a setup screen, it just unlocked straight to the homescreen. The weather widget said the phone is in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Is it ok to reset the phone, and use it normally, or will it steal my Google account and all other information it can get if I do?

I’d appreciate any help Thanks!

If you have to question it and you feel off about it, then send it back. Your instincts ate telling you not to trust it. Take another route.

Thanks, that’s what I’ve decided to do in the end, but it’s nice to hear I’m not just being a lunatic

Yep, just did. They’re clearly trying to hide something if they set it up and then put the screen cover back on imo

It’s eBay, not Samsung’s official store. What did you expect??? Also the seller might either have tested the device or used it for a while but decided to sell it because they are uninterested of it. Your just too paranoid.

If it was listed as “New” you should expect to get a sealed device.

There are categories for items that have been opened but otherwise are unused.

Exactly. Anyone defending this shouldn’t be selling on eBay. It’s just plain deceitful otherwise.
