So I was playing Starbound on my steam deck (256gb lcd model) which I installed on my SanDisk Extreme SD card. I just got my steam deck a little over a week ago and this is the first game I really got into, put about 20 hours into it all on my deck no issues…until tonight. Randomly in the middle of playing the deck stopped reading the SD card so my game crashed and it booted me back to the steam home page. Once I realized my SD card wasn’t being read anymore, I powered down the deck took it out and put it back in once the deck was on again. SD card was working again but once I loaded up my game my save file had totally vanished, and the same was true when I then opened the game on my PC. My save somehow got completely erased from the cloud when the game crashed and now I’m just sad. Nothing to fix as far as I can tell, just writhing in denial that my beautiful little Hylotl protector is gone.

I know the SD card issue isn’t uncommon, but has anyone else had their save in a game completely disappear because of it?
