Let me get this clear off the bat, I recently upgraded to the Pixel 8 coming from a Galaxy S9. I have my preferences in phones, if you disagree with my choice of phone I’m sorry. I love both my pixel and galaxy watch.

Anyway, after pairing my Galaxy watch 5 to my phone, it’s made my phone unusable most of the time, mainly when something is using the camera. So, whenever I open the camera app or open the camera on a social media app, the Galaxy watch 5 manager app opens on its own every few seconds, and doesn’t stop. Taking a video? It stops it. It opened 55 times according to digital wellbeing in the span of 10 minutes. It’s extremely infuriating and I’m considering just selling this watch in the future if Samsung doesn’t fix this annoying bug. I saw another person on r/galaxywatch experience the same problem, on his Samsung phone, with no answers to his problem, except him saying to log out of your Samsung account in the wear app, which I can’t find.

So, please, is there any fixing this? I tried resetting the watch along with reinstalling the wear app, but frankly it made things worse, with the app opening what feels like twice the amount it was before. And not to mention it opening on its own randomly outside of taking a photo. I really hope there’s a fix coming. How could I report this to Samsung, if possible? One thought I had was that I’m on Android 14, which may not work that well with current Samsung apps since Samsung phones don’t have Android 14/One UI 6 yet?

Anyways, thanks for listening to my complaints. Other than this, I love the watch. Just sucks this is happening. ANY help is appreciated.

Yeah I’ve already come to that conclusion before with no success. It would be nice if Android had an option to prevent apps from opening themselves. The appears on top option is for picture in picture applications. Thank you though!
