After a whirlwind few weeks of not knowing if I’ll have a job by Christmas, I had to re-interview for the job I’m currently doing (common in UK redundancies) - the interview went so shit that I thought I knew that I didn’t have the job anymore.
Yesterday I got the call from the regional manager, who says I’ve got the job based on my merit (almost always hit my targets and then some). Burst into happy/relieved tears, ripped a celebration bong, and ordered the 512GB OLED.
I’ll swap my 1TB into it and pass my LCD to my partner - she just started her new job as a Games Development & Animation Tutor, so I feel a Deck would be very appropriate. I’ll put her favourite retro games on it for her too.
Unfortunately PayPal took the money from my account to pay for it, so I opened a ticket with Valve who resolved the issue in 20-odd minutes. For anyone still crying that they feel they’re a victim because they announced the OLED a month after they ordered their decks, I think it’s fair to say Valve DO care about their customer, and you’ve just got bad timing.
Been a shit couple of weeks but now I’ve got something to look forward to!
