The fix for me was to go into desktop mode and enable WPA3. I’m not sure why the SD doesn’t have this enabled by default but in doing so I was finally able to get mine working on the 6 Ghz band for full 6E speeds. Hopefully this helps someone else!

Mine must have been enabled by default because it had not problem connecting to my WPA3 network.
Where in desktop mode did you enable WPA3? Can you share a picture?
where is that option?
Why are you doing this in the steam deck. 6e wifi needs to have WPA3 security for it to connect. Should be set up at the router
