I know we all love this thing - I do as well, but by golly it’s been 1.5 years and I wouldn’t even say I’ve used it that much.

I just have so many issues. The battery can be really really wonky - sometimes it acts as designed, other times it will plummet from 80% to 10% in minutes and then not charge. Then after full power down and rest for a while it will charge back up and I can get 2-3 hours from it normal style.

I had the weird LCD “white frame” and ghosting issue today.

I can’t tell you how many crashes and reboots I’ve had.

I’ve had so many weird display not waking - or system not waking issues. You have to press the power button many times and you’ll hear the wake up chime, but it won’t wake up. But then eventually on the 10th try it wakes up.

I’ve fully reinstalled SteamOS and started over - and still issues plague my experience.

Just now in desktop mode the display wouldn’t wake up, but every time I pressed the power button the screen would light up and then on release of the power key it would go back into standby. I kept doing this over and over and it would flash on and off like a christmas light. I finally set it down and then like 10 seconds later the display lit up and it was running.

I’m glad they made it somewhat repairable, and perhaps they’ve sorted manufacturing issues since my original launch unit. It eventually always “starts up” but it’s like that old tractor in winter months - turning the diesel over and over until it eventually gets going.
