On the same note, Allys are now on display at Best Buy. Only comes installed with FH5, and damn, the performance is terrible. Hard stutters every 3 seconds, annoying right stick placement, and poor navigation. I don’t know where people are saying it’s comfortable are coming from; it’s not very comfortable to hold up the screen that is attached to the controller.

These pc handheld makers are in for a rude awakening when they find out the pie is a lot smaller than they thought. Games sell consoles. No one gets excited enough to drop $500 because they get to (poorly) play AAA games while on the can for longer than they should be there, griming up the toilet that they never clean.

The only handheld worth buying is the Switch. Almost everything is terrible about that device, but it has unique exclusives designed for it. And is geared towards living room play with groups of people.

Stick placement is my biggest gripe with the slew of handhelds outside Steamdeck.

It’s like none of them looked at all the research Nintendo did for the WiiU Gamepad. Valve didn’t initially either, the first prototypes had the bad stick placement, but that’s what prototyping is for - learning the hard lessons - like centre of gravity.

I can pretty much see now why nvidia is giving up on the low end market, APUs have genuinely progressed to the point where a dedicated low end gpu really makes no sense anymore.

Nvidia could absolutely make a stellar budget GPU, they just have ZERO desire to do so because the margins are so low. Nvidia just made $14.51 billion from DC sales, and ‘only’ $2.86 billion on gamer, which is a lower margin segment.

Nvidia is predicting an insane 75% profit margin in 2024.

Jensen isnt going to stop to pickup a penny $10 bill in a parking lot.
