In the UK. I mean brands like Belkin, Anker and UGreen. I’ve had three of these types of cables from cheap Chinese brands on Amazon fail over the last 3 years and I wanted to get a better quality one.

But these brands do not make this type of cable, and large chain stores with a high street presence don’t sell any. So is there a technical reason?

Anker and Belkin have one similar one but their plastic attachments do not look durable at all, so I prefer the above design. These attachments look like they could snap off super easily therefore I saw little point in shelling out extra for them. But maybe there is something else better about this design?

    Some have in the past and they tend to fail faster as they have more moving aka working parts, older USB cables specially mini USB tend to fail after while because of how they were designed with this little teeth. Even older lighting cables had this issue. Now with apple being forced to use USB C cables for universal charging. Things will be a lot easier
