So i have a 2019 mac right before they started with the M1’s. In theory my battery should last 4-7 hours according to online. I downloaded coconut battery and I seem to be between 80-85% design capacity on my batter. However, even with JUST chrome open (admittedly a lot of tabs) I only last two hours until my computer dies. Shouldnt it be lasting at LEAST 4? or is chrome really THAT taxing. Its almost the same wear as when I do music production in Ableton with the fans blasting constantly lol. I wanted to get a new battery but then coconut battery says im only 20 percent off so is it really gonna get me even to the 4 hour mark getting a new battery? I doubt it tbh. I feel like to reach the advertised numbers it needs literally two of these batteries working in tandem

I haven’t ever seen my previous 13” MBP (2020) consistently get more than 2 hours of battery life. 4 hours could happen if all you do is literally reading PDFs.

“JUST chrome open (admittedly a lot of tabs)”

I think you underestimate how resource intensive tons of tabs are, especially in Chrome.
