1 full week now into having my OLED LD. Previously sold my LCD.
Assuming one buys a Steam Deck because of daily responsibilities and life alone. Then consider the total time you would spend on the deck. After a long day of work. The few hours left after kids asleep. The few hours after partners content.
You deserve the superior OLED screen considering this is likely a full time substitute of a PS5/PC
Gaming experience and speed is far superior and noticeable than LCD
Heat and fan noise is reduced compared to LCD
Battery is superior and so important considering we primarily bought this for the purpose of mobility.
We’re all going to die one day.
You deserve the OLED! Don’t buy LCD as first timer. LCD remnants, seriously consider it!
I play docked most of the time (RTS player), so no reason to upgrade 🤷🏼
this sounds like a great copypasta
The consumerism of this sub is insane. Why is everyone so obsessed with having others spend hundreds of dollars?
Love my Oled. Sold my lcd in a heartbeat. So, if you have the money deeeefinitely cough it up.
Iv spent half my life gaming on mostly broken crts and gameboy ogs… the lcd is fine for me
Did you just call me a fucking remnant? I like it.
I have my LCD SD that I hook up to my OLED monitor. Does that count?
STOP DOING THIS TO ME
Keep cool guys, it’s just a video game system, not a life Phylosophi
This is so cringe lol. No, you don’t need the new thing just because it’s new. Still having a blast on my LCD deck.
Is Valve paying your or something.
This is like one of those dystopian horror nightmares
I ordered a SD OLED a couple days ago. I was gonna buy a PlayStation Portal but after seeing remote play in action on the Deck, the choice was clear. Can’t wait for it to arrive
Honestly I have an OLED now but I keep thinking that no one will buy my LCD when I put it up for sale. I’m going to try but I really hope someone scoops it since I still regret buying the OLED (not having one, but spending all that money).
I booted up my LCD deck today, after using my OLED deck for a couple weeks. The same game felt laggy, the fan noise was significant, and the track pad was frustrating to use. The whole deck felt clunkier despite being the same dimensions, due to being heavier and having a larger bezel. Interestingly, the image quality of the LCD holds up just fine, though. In a side-to-side comparison I could tell the difference, but qualitatively my game looked fine.
