I have been using the Samsung S8 for 5 years now, and it has been the longest and the best phone I have used till date. I have had Pixel and Sony’s flagship phones before - nothing ever served me so well.
I am on a lookout for a new phone though, If you were me, what would you bet on among the current Samsung’s offerings.

I have used many flagships and now I just settled for an Samsung A33.
Still great if you don’t play games.
I just recently bought it, Get the Honor Magic 5 pro. Perfect specs, amazing camera, Fantastic thermals, full 3d face unlock with fingerprint, 66w charging, etc etc

Other options: Galaxy S23/s23 plus or a54 Pixel 8/pro Nothing phone 2 Red magic phones, Asus Rog phones or ZenFone 10 Redmi 13 series Poco x5 (snapdragon 695) OnePlus 11, 12 or nord 3
You just missed some massive black friday sales. Might as well wait until S24’s early launch in Jan and get the S23 lineup at huge discounts.
Personally recommend the Ultra, but use it once, and see if the huge form factor works for you.

ignoring everything else, I would just say get the most expensive S series phone that is the right “size” for your hands, and your budget. Any S series phone will do, just don’t touch the budget phones or the FE phones. S24, S23, S22. All are fine phones. No need to bet. You’ll get the same Samsung experience as the S8, just better and faster.
Repeat, do not touch the budget phones, do not touch the FE phones, and you will be fine.
You left out two important pieces of information, Budget and use case.
I think s20 fe 5g is one of the best options as it’s cheap, has a lot of storage, has a great camera, and is lightweight. It’s is such a good phone for the price.
