I’m a bit torn.

I currently have a Samsung S23 Ultra but since I tend to switch phones every year-ish (I get bored of them easily), I’ve been looking at getting an iPhone.

Ever since the announcement of the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) and them finally going USB-C, I’ve been wanting one. A few days ago, a friend of mine offered to buy my S23 Ultra which is great but I just don’t know whether to do it or not.

I see so many issues with the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) from screen burn-in to titanium having dents to software not working properly. I’d love to know from other iPhone 15 Pro (Max) users if any of you are experiencing issues with your brand new devices. My phone works great for now so if the issues really are a dealbreaker for most, I’ll just hold onto my Samsung until the S24 Ultra releases but I want to give iPhone a shot again after being on team Android for a few years now.

Do note that I’m not interested in getting a iPhone 14 Pro or lower, I didn’t wait all this time for iPhone to get USB-C (like all my other devices) to having to go back to Lightning which would be the only device that I’d have that wouldn’t have USB-C.

I’d love to hear all your experiences!

If you’re in the US you can return an undamage phone within 15 days. Keep S23 then try phone for a couple of weeks and if the experience sucks just return it.

    S10e to 15 Pro

Only thing I feel iOS could’ve done better so far after a month of use is notifications (notifications type, I used to be able to choose not to receive ads from shopping apps) and keyboard. Miss being able to type numbers from the alphabet keyboard by holding instead of changing to number keyboard like on my iPhone.

You are really really sad if you actually think the 15 pro’s are truly “defective” every major issue has been caused by iOS 17 being shitty. But that is being patched. The “burn in” you mentioned was confirmed as screen image retention, which was 100% caused by iOS again. 99.9% of iPhone 15 pro’s and pro maxes are getting insane universal praise. Do not be so gullible to believe the very vocal .1% of users who got unlucky. No product will be 100% perfect for all users but for most of us it is. Just get the 15 pro or pro max and enjoy the heck out of it

Yes do it - I switched from Samsung last year and I have the 15 pro now and I’m never going back

The “burn in” wasn’t actually true burn in - a software update fixed people’s screens that were having issues with that- they literally updated the phones and the screen went back to normal - it was an issue with the way the pixels turned off etc (it’s a lot to explain) but it wasn’t actually true true burn in

The titanium I’m loving and the contoured round edges make it the best feeling phone I’ve ever held in my life (and I have had many iPhones , Samsungs , before this)

The screen is incredible, the way it feels in your hand , the lightweight titanium is beautiful, the camera is amazing, and it’s just a beautiful phone

    I’d deff recommend it

I liked bigger phones , I had the 14 plus before this - I wanted the 15 pro max , but they were OOS and on back order for a month - so I went to Apple Store to browse and I stared to like the pro

I got the 256g Pro in black and I’m loving it , and I won’t go back to the bigger screen honestly- it’s the perfect size - and even tho I just had the same 6.7 inch plus 14 (same size as 14 pm and 15 pm) , when I hold one now it feels so bulky and I just don’t like the big screens anymore

Do it , don’t overthink it - you can look up right now this very second issues people have had with EVERY phone ever released- even Samsungs

Plus there’s a 1 year warranty and you can get apple care + , if anything was to happen - anything can happen to all devices

True but I love to hear other people’s opinions about it too. People I can actually have a convo with. The more opinions I have, the more I feel I can make a decent decision.

If you’re going to buy just the phone, I wouldn’t go for it. Too restrictive. But if you’re looking for a full switch (watch, buds, laptop), I would definitely go for it. I did the same about 4 months ago as a long time Android user and were it not for the ecosystem, I would have switched back already.

It would mostly be the phone and a watch (same as I have now). I have a Sony XM4 as a headset so I can use it for both platforms luckily. Laptop is still Windows though, I need it for servers, virtual machines, system control, etc in school (IT-student) so a Mac is not really interesting.

You mean switch back to Android? Care to explain why?

There are some things I prefer on Samsung than Apple and I still think all around the ultra is the best phone you can get in the u.s. Unfortunately I traded my ultra in for my z flip 5 so to offset my disappointment and desire for something new and all around better than my flip, I bought the 15 pro max. I like the phone and it is definitely better than using my flip. I enjoy customization and making the phone feel like mines so it was an adjustment for iOS but I’m still working on it. I had multitouch issues when I first got my 15 pro max but after an update, no issues whatsoever. If you weren’t doing anything crazy with your Samsung devices and using it as normal then the 15 pro max will be a nice change.

Switched from Android to the iPhone 14 PM. I mainly still use my android phone for everything except phone calls and text messages. The iPhone is super heavy for no reason and it doesn’t run as smooth as my 4 year old android phone.

I have 13 max pro. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m so ingrained in the ecosystem (MacBook, Apple Watch), I would be switching to android. My boyfriend has a Pixel and I’ve been far more impressed with that experience than that of my iPhone. I’m seriously considering changing when my contract is up.
