I am trying to get one in the USA, but it is way more expensive than in the EU, and amlost twice the cost of the parts alone as listed in ifixit.

Are these all the components I need or am I missing something?

  • Fairphone 6 Ultra-Wide Camera
  • Fairphone 6 Screw Set
  • Fairphone 6 Battery
  • Fairphone 6 Display
  • Fairphone 6 Top Unit
  • Fairphone 6 Main Camera
  • Fairphone 6 Front Camera
  • Fairphone 6 Upper Back Cover
  • Fairphone 6 Lower Back Cover
  • Fairphone 6 USB-C Port
  • Fairphone 6 Loudspeaker
  • Fairphone 6 Earpiece
  • Fairphone 6 SIM Tray

Thanks

You can technically do this, I’ve done it before with other devices like a 3DS. But the real problem with doing this for a smartphone is gonna be cellular bands global phones are shipped with bands that will work globally and phones that are intended for certain regions generally only have support for those bands for that region

You’d have to dig up the docs for fairphones cell bands on their EU model to make sure that the carrier that you have uses those bands as sometimes you get lucky and sometimes…not

Fuck, I do need a replacement phone ASAP, my 6 year pixel barely holds a charge for 6 hours (wish I could just replace the battery and charging plug that doesn’t work either). that is why I want the fp6, but it is so expensive in the states

I checked the bands, looks like it’s fully compatible with Tmobiles bands, so it should also work for other carriers. But, tmobile is generally the “friendliest” with imported brands anyways so I’d recommend you consider switching to them if not on them already. ATT and Verizon have both been known to occasionally throw a fit if you try to use an imported brand.

So you should be gtg overall, a tip though just make sure that screws are included when you order the frame assembly, I’ve made that mistake before lmao 😅
