I like being able to use the watch without tapping the screen or using the digital crown, but I’m also an optimized battery enthusiast and like going two full days without charging.

And I raise my left arm a lot throughout the day.

Is “optimized battery enthusiast” the synonym for I have crippling anxiety and concerns about useless things? 😭 just use your watch and enjoy it fully, slap that shit on its charger overnight and don’t even think about the battery

I have aod=on and wristRaise=on, it adds 0.6% batt drain per hour. I measured the impact to batt drain. This combo is necessary, else i wouldnt be able to see the Simple watchface outdoors.

How did you measure this and how did you control for other parasitic types of drain? I wouldn’t have asked you but you were so suspiciously specific it was screaming for more info haha

I don’t know but I have a short cut to turn it off while at work and turn it back on when I leave. I keep always on display on so that works for me.

    Optimized battery enthusiast

You know what? I like that. I’ll give you that over “charge micromanager.”

From experience with past Watch models, turning off raise extended battery life noticeably although I’m not sure the exact percentage as I never formally measured it. If you have a newer watch, it’s possible you could still see somewhat longer battery life by disabling Raise to Wake while leaving Always On Display enabled
