I keep my batteries from going bad by trying to keep the charge within the middle third range (33-66%) as much as I can. My OnePlus 7 Pro had just fallen below 80% of official shipped capacity (after six years of heavy use) when I had to retire it because an app essential for my work wouldn’t support the Android version 11 it was running anymore (supposedly due to security concerns).

ETA: I also charged it as slowly as I could (1A or less) to keep the temperature down & minimize charge damage.

I’d tell your work to provide a yubikey if they aren’t paying for your phone, it gives you the option to unplug a bit too.

I get a minimal monthly stipend against the cost of service. The app isn’t written in house, so they have no control over it.
