Hello 👋🏼 Looking into puttinf a tracking device on my luggage as i am planning some international travel with multiple layovers. I am a heavy samsung user so naturally i would love to buy the smart tags they sell. Just couldn’t find any reviews about these tags being used beyond house items (keys, wallets, etc) Want to check/confirm the tags would be able to pick up luggage location across borders!

dunno what your timeline for travel is but if it helps, if you want to PM me in a 2-3 weeks, or ping me on this thread again or whatever, I am about to start an international trip and have bought a smarttag2 for my checked luggage. I can tell you how it went as far as how well it works in my experience at least?
Thank you for the offer, but i am leaving next week on Wednesday, so I was hoping i could buy some tags over the weekend if any good reviews! Quick question though, when you bought the tag did you have to buy a plan or anything that would allow for location pick up long distance? (Basically not over bluetooth)
no, just bought the tag itself. my s23, via the smarthings app, recognized it as soon as I pressed the button, both app the the tag got updated, and it seems to be working so far? I start my trip tonight proper, but for reasons right now my bag with the tag is in another state and when I track it, seems to be pinging accurately. (which is interesting because my parents do not have Samsung phones so either it is pinging off their TV, or off the phone of a neighbor; if the latter, that’s a pretty decent range 0.o)I believe the way it works when it is away from you is that it pings off of any other Samsung devices that might be around so, if it gets lost and there are randos with Samsung phones or tablets or watches around it, hopefully should ping? I figured it was the best I could do on Android lol. (fwiw, it also has a feature where if it is near you, you can use it to make your phone beep if you misplaced your phone in your house etc which I think is kinda cool)
