You can bind K&M on the Deck.
You cannot on the GO.
I would have to upload all my itch games, say, to SteamOS just to play them at all.
It’s shocking to me that Lenovo didn’t look at the Ally or SteamOS and say, yeah, this is a Windows device so it’s really gotta have K&M binds.
End of mini-rant.
Remember the Cola wars in the 90s? Pepperidge farm remembers. Everyone suffered with Clear coke and Pepsi.
best thing is, i can continue to use my steam game library on lenovo if i switch. Valve rules.
I’d like to see a subscription based model on steam, my steam library isn’t big since i have game pass and buy most of my games on gog (yes i can play them on the deck but it’s a hassle) Would love to have the ability to play and test different games and i think that would be a killer to game pass pc
Honestly agreed! Used to buy steam games in droves but with how expensive living has gotten all I can afford is maybe 20-25$ a month if that for “extra” purchases and usually it gets saved in case of emergency 15 for game pass has been a livesaver for my wallet and my ability to play games, I just went full windows install on my steam deck purely for game pass at this point, if valve offered a similar alternative for steamOS I would hop on immediately as I find using windows on steam deck to be just “okay” as far as user experience goes and has a simpler UI compared to windows since it was not designed with a device like the steam deck in mind.
LOL 😂 mine gets delivered today
This is me recently tbh
Agreed deck been causing me too many problems. Hassle to damn near do anything on deck so im selling and upgrading to something better. Has to be done
$400 vs $700. Easy choice for me.
Enjoy OP, it better be really worth it.
Meh. Absolutely love my SD but got the LeGo due to the big screen and nice ergonomics. I’m probably going to return it though. It’s nice it has a trackpad but it sucks. It’s slow and doesn’t click. The software is a giant mess at this point in time and I hate the sticks. They are small, have little travel, and have HUGE dead zones. Terrible for any FPS but would be ok for casual games. Screen and touch input/responsiveness are incredible though. It has potential but it’s hard to justify the price when I love everything about the SD other than the screen and wish it was a little more powerful.
Oh, that’s good to know.
Points that you raised are really important ones.
I’m in the middle about this, but I am leaning towards the the legion. I know that it has problems. So does every type of PC, but those fucking specs are awesome. I’m still doing my do diligence as I am away at work for a month and hopefully by that time I get back home I will have made up my mind.
I think this is a good thing, and was kinda what I expected anyways.
Valve dumped some money in and said “look there’s a demand for this thing” and now other companies are iterating on said thing for them.
Handhelds will start reaching a market who wouldn’t use Steam otherwise and everyone ends up happy. I can’t wait to see where the handheld market goes from here.
I have Lenovo laptop is strongly advise not to buy Lenovo hardware Overheating problems … weak updates … and so many things
My 2015 Ideapad 110, being the “low quality” model, lasted 8 years after I bought it second hand in 2018 and used all kind of games on it, just because why not. Ran FM7 on it, and got it so overheated the dedicated GPU fried inside. Yet the laptop is still fully functional. They are great devices honestly.
I may or may not wait (/want) a windows handheld system for my GOG games, along with any games that have issues in proton on Steamdeck (/linux) or may not even be on either store (diablo 2R)
It‘s pretty expensive tho. You get a new steam deck with 500GB SSD for less than 500€ and the Legion starts at 800€ if I‘m correct
