Seen a guy unironically wanting handheld market to adopt Legion Go’s screen as a standard for future handhelds, and I couldn’t disagree more.

I’d love my future Steam Deck 2 to pack a 7+ inch 1080p bezel-less OLED (optional) screen that’s actually capable of keeping up with its APU for many years to come like the current Deck does without me having to sacrifice the native resolution from the get go.

People tend to talk shit about Deck’s 800p display, but it just made me realize how good of a idea it was in the first place. It ensured longevity and affordable price.

For me, VRR should be a standard feature, if we are talking screens.

Specially for battery powered devices. Legion lacks it. Deck lacks it. It would make tinkering less of a hassle. Dips are more bearable. Input lag too.

If we are talking resolution, 720p/800p seems enough I guess. But like some people pointed out, higher screen resolution with integer scaling seems like the best compromise.
