I know Valve hardware has often gotten delayed coming to Australia but this time with Steam Deck it seems like I have heard absolutely nothing about that happening at all. Do you think Valve will ever make it available here? I have a friend who got one from America but apparently has to jump through a lot of hoops to get things working on it which I would definitely love to not have to do.
i bought one from this seller over on reebelo.
What hoops, I live in an unsupported region, it just worked. there would only be hoops if you tried to use a post forwarding service. and trying to RMA
You can buy the Steam Deck on Kogan.
In terms of when it will be fully available proper, probably through EB Games…well, the Valve Index took 3 years to come to us in Australia, and then there was only limited stock that would sell out constantly. I wouldn’t get your hopes up for this being soon.
Maybe Australia should move to valve instead.
I bought my steam deck from Kogan. I’ve had no issues at all. I bought the one with the least storage and upgraded it myself way cheaper.
Did the exact same thing, no problem with it
Yup, me too. Was absolutely legit, would recommend.
Also got mine from Kogan
Kogan club here too, they give you quite a decent charger adaptor also
I also bought mine off Kogan. No issues and it arrived in about a week. They even sent a charger adaptor!
Is it unavailable due to usual Aussie govt cuckoldry?
I got mine from Expansys via HK. It was basically retail price and I haven’t had any problems.
It sucks that it’s not available officially. But given how easy it is to get, I don’t really care.
Got mine from salvos
What kind of hoops does he have to jump through to get it working?
I’m Australian, but ordered my steamdeck from the UK (my sister lives there) and then shipped it to the UAE where I currently live, have had no issues. Also traveled to 10+ countries with it. Not sure what country my account is set to off the top of my head but it’s either Aus or UAE, both of which don’t officially stock the Steamdeck. My Steamdeck has been a godsend and honestly has given me no issues at all
There’s a solid seller on Amazon who I, and a friend bought from. Both came with US>AU wall adaptors.
Based on the tracking I believe they’re based in Sydney.
