I’m in search of a military-style game. I remember having so much fun playing Socom on the PSP. What would the Steam Deck equivalent be in your opinion? Additionally, I want something that has a quality single-player campaign. Any ideas?

I played Enlisted on my PS4 a little bit when it first became available. It was pretty satisfying, since people die when they get shot, unlike a lot of FPS games.

Cod world at war is to date my fave cod game and probably my fave ww2 fps as well. Although the first ww2 game that blew me away was medal of honour on ps2. That opening scene where you’re storming the beach alone was pretty epic

If you enjoyed Socom, you can definetly can an Emulator on the Deck to play all of bravo team 1-3 and even the ps2 versions of Socom as well. If you want the third person feel with a kind of decent single player campaign that is reminiscent of tactical-military shooters of old, you could instal Xbox Cloud gaming w/ game pass on your steam deck and play Ghost recon Wildlands.

Not sure if this qualifies but Titanfall 2 is good. It’s multiplayer side has been more active recently.

Second vote for ghost recon Wildlands. It’s a shame what ubisoft did to the series, but on its own merit Wildlands is a decent open world 3ps.

It runs pretty well on the deck and if you enjoyed socom, there will be a lot here for you.

I never had so much fun with a military FPS as in Easy Red 2. I was dreaming about such game since I was a kid in 90s; you choose any unit on battlefield and cry Hurrah and try to conquer Omaha beach, having the same possibilities and limitations as any other NPC on battlefield

I find the controls a bit cumbersome, but yeah it’s alright this game. It plays a bit like Hell Let Loose.

Battlefield 1 is quite good on the Deck, i had fun with it. I played it too because i had lots of fun on the PSP playing war games (though i played Medal of Honor Heroes not Socom).
