There’s barely any information on what to do specifically on Steam Deck/Linux devices and the only available instructions are for windows. When I try to follow the windows instructions, using Proton along the way, it doesn’t work. Starting from scratch, please tell me how to actually install this add-on step by step, I just wanna play this finally.

Blue shift for black Mesa is on the steam workshop. Can’t you just install it through steam?
Install game on steam, navigate to workshop page, search blue shift (mod is by hecu collective), click the green cross to download and install the mod.

Gotcha, just done it myself. What you need to do is switch to desktop mode, navigate to where the install.bat files are and copy the bshift folder from there and put it in the black Mesa folder (steamapps/common/blackmesa) and then run the game with the -game bshift command
