How is the noise? That is the most important thing!
Something tells me they have a stock of already paid chips for years to come, so they decided to make a revision rather than a true ps slim.
Anyone have a recommendation for a PS5 controller that doesn’t have the drift issue, or at least offers a workable solution? I’m tired of soldering in replacement parts/wiring.
I suspect its to flood the market with higher firmware
“nifty disc drive” that requires an online connection to use
On the other hand, ps5 prices on ebay look like they’ve plummeted.
I imagine this model is just a cost savings version like the last iteration with smaller heatsink. Strategically ready for the upcoming christmas season of course.
It’s just less manufacturing costs for Sony. I bet they will prioritize making a lot of digital PS5 Slim’s so they can sell it at cheaper price and anyone who wants to have a disc will buy the disc drive. They don’t need to manufacture 2 different models and just 1 to simplify manufacturing.
I don’t think this PS5 is intended as the official “slim” redesign for the PS5. It seems like it’s just meant to allow Sony to manufacture a single PS5 that can be either sold as the Regular or Digital-only editions.
Hey guys, let’s post the worst, most rushed “teardown” we can find. The one that has less detail than the others. The one that fails to acknowledge his sponsor (Dbrand). The one that calls the new model ugly. The one that says his Dbrand will produce shiny new plates for, to make less “ugly”.
Yeah.
Should have been a price cut for the size and sku savings? Sony will continue to delay the transition to the next generation by being greedy. By increasing the AAA game cost and the digital console price a lot of gamers will wait for a true slim model with a decent price cut with the drive coming standard. The scalpers have lost and the consumer will eventually demand more for their money.
Nifty? You gotta ask papa Sony if it can play at all. Not nifty.
I ain’t much of a console guy but that thing is significantly smaller than the first version. What on earth does “not much shrinking” mean here
Linus already basically told us that 3 days ago. Same size of the chip
