We finally get new ddr5 apu’s they can name them whatever they want it doesn’t really matter to imo.
they’re getting so out of touch man. so the full 12CU iGPU that budget gamers would appreciate is locked behind a Ryzen 7 that probably cost $300.
If this is true and theyre pulling the “APUs are 1 generation behind CPUs” rubbish again, this is gonna annoy so many enthusiasts trying to explain that “no actually, the 8000G series uses Zen 4, not Zen 5” to all their normie friends.
Who explains architecture to normal people? All you have to do is tell them if it’ll run what they want to run, and how well it’ll run.
Glass half full - I think phoenix is using RDNA 3.5. So behind on CPU. Ahead on GPU ;)
Shame AMD doesn’t go all out with these. Upping the TDP to 100 watts and giving it a beefy GPU. An APU extreme, if you will.
Is this faster than Steamdeck?
What even is the point of APUs anymore. All CPUs now have a basic gpu to run a display, and if you need more gpu power there is absolutely no way an APU will be good enough. Who is this even for? League of Legends players exclusively? I don’t get it
I’d like to see an ITX motherboard with like 8GB of onboard GDDR6 specifically designed to be addressed by AMD G-series APUs and 2 DDR5 slots for 288 pin.
I was expecting more from AMD APUs this gen… Guess I’ll have to go with Intel CPU to build my Linux machine with GPU passthrough…
oh boy back again with naming mess, what interesting with ryzen 5 line up 5600g using full fat core is sell like hot cakes. best of best CPU for budget, now they choose hybrid with 8000 series
Here’s hoping Ryzen 3 8300G will not be OEM only yet again.
Would this be good for HTPCs?
Should we pull up the name decoder? 8000 just means '24?
AMD and bad, inconsistent product numbers, name a better duo, I’ll wait.
I really really hate this naming scheme and always have. Why must the APUs of a generation have numbers that look like a new gen?
Since all Zen 4 have iGPU, G series aren’t interesting.
Too little too late, and another labeling schemeExcept for 7500F (at the moment).
