If you read the details of this SlickDeals post, it has all the information you need. But basically, you have 2 options. Go to Walmart around 10 am - 5 pm when you’ll more than likely catch a cellular rep (not a regular Walmart person) and ask for the Straight Talk $49 Deal which you can get if you buy the $149 iPhone SE 3 on Straight Talk and activate it right there and then with their Silver Unlimited service plan which costs $45, with Auto-Renewal OFF. After the phone is activated, you can then purchase the SE 3 and take it home with you. Use the phone in their service (do some calls and texts) for 30 days. You only need that 1 month active service for it to auto-unlock in 60 days.
Second way of getting it is through Straight Talk’s website, that is if you can snipe one when they do get some in stock which is always random. The Notify Me option doesn’t really do jack. You’ll just have to keep on refreshing the website and hope you stumble upon an available one and snipe it as fast as you can. Anyway, once you get one, add their Silver Unlimited plan that costs $45 (with Auto-Renewal OFF), then it automatically deducts $100 for you, which makes it so you essentially just spent $49 + $45 = 95 + some dollar-ish tax for a brand new SE 3 which can become a full fledged unlocked iPhone SE 3 after 60 days.
Do I have to turn on the phone to complete activation? Has anyone tried activating the device via its IMEI and letting the phone rest for 60 days? Untouched and sealed.
That, I am not sure. Sorry! Might be better to ask that question on the SlickDeals post.
You can buy one with an r-sim chip and use any SIM card you want.
You don’t need to ask for the deal. Just ask the rep to get the iPhone SE on straight talk along with $35(or higher) plan and the system should automatically give you the discount.
Do we need to keep the plan active for 60 days or 30 days is enough? Because customer care rep said its 60 days :(
Is that one work around for requesting an unlock if you get papers from the military to go over-seas?
Or maybe not joining the military for an unlock, but if you have travel itinerary for some other country? I remember some carriers are cool with travel plans.
Can this be used with att after 60 days ?
Literally copied my post. lol.
How in the world could I copy your post when yours was posted on r/iphone 4 days ago and mine was posted here, on r/iPhoneSE, 5 days ago? LOL
Any chance to activate the SIM from outside the US?
It’s $99 on the website so is it on Walmart only in person.
Is this just for the iphone SE 64GB? What other iPhones? (Looking at the SE 3, 128GB+, the 13, 13 pro, 14, 14 pro, 15, 15 pro)
So I managed to order this through the website when it was available. They just canceled my order saying I needed to be an active straight talk customer first. That was nowhere on the website.
Do they run a credit check and ask for ID to activate this phone?
