I called customer service and it’s a known issue. In fact if you have one that has a flashing led when it’s plugged in even if it’s not from the update they would probably swap it if you told them that was the problem. Not sure what model they are going to replace it with but it’s better than buying a new one.

    Same thing happened to me. I have a Gen 2 that is less than two years old and it’s completely bricked now. Took it to an Apple store and they said I have to either pay for a replacement or buy a new one. I’ll be doing none of those things since this is 100% their fault
