I got an Apple Watch 8 from Facebook. It already sounds bad. The person I got it from blocked me and got rid of the listing after I told home the watch wasn’t working right. From what I investigated it might be a demo watch. I know I was scammed and I should have been more careful but is there a way to fix the watch to be normal? The reset button is grayed out and when I try to do it a different way it only loops when trying to restart to factory.

    You can try this: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/s/eIAXXZmllY However as far as I know, if it really has a demo/display software loaded on it, a reset won’t do anything for you, only Apple can fix it for you, but they won’t do that because I suppose you can’t really prove ownership via this transaction, moreover, you can even get into an undesirable situation due to the grey background of this watch. Since the person blocked you immediately, I think they already knew that the watch was unusable. I know you may feel it’s unjustified that you already have the tech and can’t make it work, but the security measures are in place exactly for this reason, to discourage the theft of these devices.

      Thanks for the help. I managed to get it done. I also got in contact with Apple and they informed me it wasn’t shown as stolen or lost. So it’s all good. I really appreciate it.
