Last night I was playing some Civilization 5 using steam link to stream FROM my steam deck to my computer (Because for whatever reason it will not run on my PC). Suddenly I thought my remote play connection crashed, but in reality my steam deck went to sleep. When I pressed the power button the game was right where I had left off… I am not sure why this happened. The deck was on charge so it wasn’t a battery issue.

This ended up happening a couple of times last night. Has this happened to anyone else? I am wondering if it is related to steam link because I have never had this happen while gaming on the deck itself.

I am running steam OS using the stable branch, and the steam link app to stream from the deck to my Linux gaming PC.

Just click on the battery icon in desktop mode and tick the option to halt going to sleep.

Thanks I will try this. I did not even think that this may apply to gaming mode as well.

It does! It’s in settings, under display!

If you do it in desktop mode it will persist until shutdown, I think instead game mode has a different set of settings!
