For context ‘best take’ is the feature that lets you change the face of a subject from multiple shots to another in the series. So of 5 shots with 3 kids but not one photo has all of them looking at the camera or are blinking, best shot will take the faces of each subject when they are looking to make one mash up where all kids are facing/looking at the camera (if available in the photo series).

To any parent this is a god send and I’m wondering if anyone here would think this is something on Samsung’s radar and that they’d send out via a oneUI update. I’m looking to replace my s20+ and this one feature is so tantalizing for pixel.

from what i understand, best take is basically taking a motion photo so you can pick the best frame. samsung lets you take a motion photo. you can even take a video by holding the camera button in photo mode. then you can pick your favorite frame. maybe i’m missing it, does pixel pick the best frame for you? it’s basically a motion photo gimmick and motion photos are accessible on Samsungs. what do you think it is?

Best take is the ability for the phone to replace the subject’s face with a previous photo taken in a similar environment. It has nothing to do with motion photo
