Me the month after i bought it
As long as perfomance is same i don’t really care
Rather wait for proper upgrade with better specs than buy Oled just for novelty of oled, which for me always was hit-and-missAs much as I want one I’m going to hold out for the 2nd generation SD which will hopefully be a performance upgrade with an oled.
$279 usd refurb 64gb + 60 dollar 1tb ssd vs $550 for a 512gb oled, overall i have chosen to buy the one thats half the price 😎
I already listed my steam deck onto the marketplace to sell the min I saw this was announced, I’ve had my deck for literally 1 year and 4 months lol I’ve been dying for this to happen. I almost was gonna order the DeckHD this week. Now I’m tryna get the limited edition that’s for $679.99, I loved the steam deck to death ever since I got it and did so many mods to my original since then. I put the hall effect joysticks and upgraded the internal to 1TB plus the dbrand case. It may seem like a dumb move to sell mine since it’s only a screen upgrade and a few other updates but this is worth the money the OLED
jesus christ people acting like them releasing this oled deck bricked all others.
I’d love to upgrade but, 512gb steam deck with purple back shell, unless i could sell my deck for close to the new ones price i’d have to pass.
I got my 64 GB a month and a half a half ago and honestly would still choose the same. I got on sale for $450 CAD however at a price increase of $690 CAD it is a lot more. Granted it’s got a better screen and battery life and storage. However once you factor in tax which for me is 15 percent it becomes nearly 70 percent more. Honestly at the end of the day paying the games is the big thing and this does it well and if I was in the market for a steam deck I’d consider the base 64gb which is selling for $430 CAD now.
I got the expensive anti-glair screen version and threw on a super-glair inducing screen protector. So that should sum up how much I value my screen quality lol.
Getting ready for the coming steam deck wars.
That’s why I’ll leave the sub honestly. The war betwen “this game is perfectly playable 60fps no drops I swear” against the “this game is impossible to play no matter how many proof people show me” was already insanely bad but now the new deck versus old deck is gonna be too much lmao.
It really would be nice if people were just honest about the decks’ performance in a particular game, but apparently, that’s asking too much, lol… I’d stick around, tho. I’m sure a lot of good memes will pop up from this.
There are some good youtube videos for almost every games and I find that to be a better feedback than people opinions on the sub. On youtube, you see the game, you see the settings, you see the fps, and you decide if it’s good enough for you or not (because we all have different standards after all).
That’s another thing I really wish people would emphasize is personal standards and other subjective terms when describing game play and playability on the steam deck.
Thanks for the tip tho. I’ll definitely be checking games more on YouTube.
If valve does a trade-in or if they sell the OLED screen separately then I’m down, otherwise it’s not worth it because of everything I’ve done to the one I have now.
On the one hand, I’m fine with my upgraded 1TB Deck until the Deck 2 happens. On the other hand, waking the OLED Deck with a Bluetooth controller. Hmm…
Yeah I’ll probably like upgrade in 2-3 years from now. I’m going to wait for a larger upgrade, even though this one does look quite impressive.
Not me I scooped 2 more 512gb LCD for the low and will be making them the hearts emulation setups
Wasn’t going to upgrade until they had to make a translucent version.
