I have M1 MacBook Air 2020. around 250ml of water spilt on the keyboard & trackpad when I accidentally knocked over a water bottle.

I wiped up as much water as I could see. I turned it off and when I turned it on again it is working fine, screen looks fine, trackpad works, keyboard works…

would I have noticed right now any signs if it had been water damaged?

I agree with the previous comment. Liquid damages create corrosion over time and the longer you leave it the more difficult (costly) it becomes to repair.

If you are comfortable with opening the case and removing the logic board and inspecting / cleaning that’s a good idea.

Otherwise I recommend to get a technician to have a quick look at it to ensure nothing ugly brewing.
