I bought the steamdeck a year ago and then sold it because I didn’t like the screen and the sleep function was really buggy.

Can I get an honest opinion as to how well sleep works now (the fanboy opinion a year ago was not honest…they said it worked great, when it really didn’t). A year ago when coming out of sleep on elden ring, or the star wars jedi game the audio would glitch, or the game just wouldn’t work properly.

I want the sleep function to work as well as the nintendo switch - games resume instantly and without any buggy behavior.

Is the steam deck at this state yet? Do games which necessitate an online connection (elden ring) still bug out when coming out of sleep?

Asking, as I am thinking of getting the new oled since they fixed the screen.

They were all honest opinions, but they were opinions.

Here’s mine. No PC restores from sleep perfectly every time the way that the Switch and most cell phone games restore. If that is enough for you to return it a year ago, you won’t be happy now. Most of the time it comes back up fine. Most of the time there is little to no effect and you just pick back up and play.

And some of the time it’s unstable, lagged, or glitchy, which requires a save/restart.

As for Elden Ring, that sounds exactly like Dark Souls on the PS3. From Software just doesn’t like seeing a lost connection because it indicates funny business.
