First things first.

My current Deck is going to my brother, and I am 100% grabbing the OLED. A better battery on the go and a better screen for Moonlight/Sunshine is exactly what I need.

BUT

The review from Engadget highlights a fairly significant flaw of the Deck: Its default CPU Governor and more specifically the tendency of games to draw far more power than they need from the CPU by default. Games like Hades will peg the CPU alone to 6-7W when they need <1. The reviewer from Engadget notes that on her LCD Deck, she got a bit over 2.5 hours of battery life on Hades. By limiting CPU draw with a TDP limit, or changing to the “powersave” governor through the Powertools plugin, the LCD Deck can get closer to 5 hours in my experience, running cooler and quieter too. This is a huge difference, and even though the Deck is fantastic for people who are willing to get more hands-on and tweak things, I think that the default experience should be more consistent for those who aren’t like that.

Of course, Hades is not the only game to do this, but it is labeled “Verified” and is not the only Verified game to do so. I think fixing this issue would make the experience of playing on the Deck more consistent and more importantly require less hassle.
