There’s a bunch of complaints from people, I’m pretty sure valid for their use cases, but the one thing that shits in my soup about the Steam Deck is the lack of a physical click on the dual stage triggers of R/L2.

Having gotten used to a Steam Controller and never really liked R/L1, always felt wrong ergonomics-wise, I’ve set up dual stage triggers on R/L2 where a soft pull is R1 and the full pull is R2. I’ve played every souls-like like this, from original DS to Lies of P (which I just started). It rocks cause keeping me finger on the trigger feels more natural and relaxing.

The Steam Controller however has a very satisfying “click” when reaching the full pull. You can’t miss it, there’s no way to accidentally full pull when soft pulling. The SD however doesn’t and, while playing og DS today, I was constantly firing my heavy attack, especially in semi-panicked moments, missing ripostes or commiting to extremely slow windup attacks in the middle of a boss fight. I’ve tried tweaking the settings (and have improved it somewhat) but still “missclick” half the time.

If a “clicky” SD version got announced tomorrow, I’d buy it in a hearbeat.

Anyway, felt like venting a bit. What are you pissed about?

You can tweak the sensitivity of the triggers to where you’d have to press in further (or less if you so choose) to register input. Still no click, but should alleviate your issue somewhat.
