Just looking to see everybody’s thoughts and the possibility of it being hard to get for the holidays.
I hope not. Valve says they have far more stock and are not expecting issues like when the deck initially launched
Where was this said by Valve?
I live in Guam so I have to rely on buying from eBay. Had to wait 3 months after the initial steam deck launch and wait for the filthy scalpers to die down before I could get my hands on one. I’m afraid I’m going to have to do the same for the OLED model, which sucks because it’s the steam deck I’ve been badly waiting for with all the rumors that have been floating around about it. Sucks to Live outside the U S
That’s interesting. How is it getting other console’s on launch like the PS5 or Switch for example?
That limited edition is calling my name. I really dug the orange accents on the Stadia controller, and I’m really liking it on that too. Though to be honest only the thumbstick is going to be visible; but still.
I don’t think it’s going to sell out. Many people like me are hyped by the reality distortion field of a new product announcement, but some may cool off by the time of launch and realize the upgrade relative to the cost may not be worth it for their historical usage.
Don’t get your hopes up about the Limited edition, it’ll disappear before you blink. IMO wait for the orange red bits to become 3rd party drop ins. Also I’m not a huge fan of the shell and would prefer a normal black shell and orange.
I mean ultimately we all have an equal chance of getting limited edition right?
Depends on WiFi speed and technical issues, but mostly yeah. I’ve never been a limited edition guy, they look cool but if anything happened I’d be devastated.
I am not really one to open the hardware until the warranty is up. So opening it just for orange sticks not happening lol.
Fair enough, so long as you keep the OG parts on hand you’ll be fine. But I completely understand.
