My current steam deck does not play well with WiFi mesh networks, I’ve had to disable power management on the deck for WiFi and force the deck to only use the 2.4ghz signal on my tp link deco network. I’ve also disabled fast roaming.

Still randomly the WiFi gets into a fit and disconnects over and over again. It’s the only device to do it, even my ancient Ps Vita doesn’t do it.

As the OLED Model has a brand new WiFi chip is this issue likely fixed?

Mine is fine with my deco mesh M4 network. I have fast roaming and beam forming enabled.

Is it possible your mesh routers are too close together which is causing the deck to switch between the routers or between bands frequently

Mines the mesh M5, they’re well apart from eachother and no other device has this problem sadly.

I’ve also tried manually assigning the deck to only use one frequency and only one mesh device so it can’t roam, still seems to do it randomly, it’ll be ok for days then suddenly it’s like it gets the hiccups, it’ll just keep disconnecting and reconnecting even when I’m right next to its set device.

I’m very interested to see what the OLED Model will be like, since it’s WiFi 6 as is the mesh network
