For context I’m 15, huge samsung fanboy and I’ve saved up a decent amount of money and I’m thinking of buying a phone (never had one before lol)

With student discount from the samsung website, I’ll get it for 870 dollars but not sure if its just a waste of money. I like taking photos a lot but not sure if the difference between the s23 plus for 700 dollars and the s23u camera is that huge. Not sure if i’ll use the S-pen but i’m a fan of the curved screen. My mom has an s23+ and i can still comfily use it one handed, is the s23u design too boxy?

Would i be better off going for the s23+? I was thinking about the s23fe but the bezels seem a bit unappealing to me and 8 gen 1 overheating etc

Interesting. I would say that the base 23 is like 95% of the s23+ as there are only 2 main differences being the screen size and battery. The ultra has quite a few more differences on top of those 2 including a higher resolution screen, more and better cameras, the S-pen etc.

If you will use the s-pen and need the ultra zoom camera, then get the S23u, otherwise just stick to s23+ and save money.

Od suggest to first check out phones like a54. Not sure aboit your use case. From not having a phone and going for best of the best is a bit drastic and usualy waste of money. Since most midrange phones usualy can and do 95% of what s23 does.

I got the s22 ultra yesterday and it is absolutely perfect, comfort, etc I think the squared shape is perfect and adds something new to it

I had the ultra, sold it and got the plus. I like it a lot better, flat screen, lighter, way easier to hold and carry.

Keep saving your money and wait till s24 series to come and then buy any s23 series you like at a cheaper price. But for your age, s23 regular is fine tbh

Yupp. It’ll be minor upgrades and that’s why the s23 series will be more worth to buy AFTER the new s24 series came out. Also the s24(and s24+) will be using Exynos in few regions. From what i heard, Exynos isn’t that good on realtime using

Get a flagship from yesteryear, they still hold up great.

At 15 I wouldn’t get a phone that’s too expensive - if you break it, it’ll be way too expensive to fix.

Maybe that’s the boomer in me talking though haha

If money isn’t the problem then buying the s23U Semms better

As s23U has a lot of features better camera, battery, s-pen etc

Even if you don’t need spen or better battery (but if you look at it as in long term use then you you’ll need 5000 mah)

And the display is the best on s23U as the base varient only had fhd not Wqhd

And if you have a short hand then s23Might be hard for you for one handed use (but the samsung one ui is well known for the one handed use (guestures))

Also the performance heat dissipation and better build quality does actually make the phone worth it

(But there’s one thing you need to consider)

Because next year in just 3 months s24 will be out

S23+ is the best phone I’ve ever had - I didn’t go with the Ultra because I am done with curved screens

if the 24 Ultra is flat screen I am going to get that (maybe, depending on the AI integration stuff)

Depends on your use case. If you want an absolute beast of a phone, go for s23u else go for plus.

I am more than satisfied with my base model s23. The size, weight, battery backup, everything seem to be well balanced. So, think s23plus as a step up from s23, i believe you will have a good experience
